I know I promised a report about crossing the King Fahd causeway, but, I can’t find the photos. So Imma skip that for a while and write about the umra trip.
My umra trip was a quick one, just a weekend trip. Perhaps some of you already know, but weekends in Saudi Arabia means thursday and friday.
So, we started of on wednesday afternoon, by bus and scheduled to arrive in Makkah on thursday morning. Its a 1200km or about 16 hours drive.
the trip was boring. Well, the eastern part of Saudi Arabia is mostly deserts, barely anything to see but sands, well I did see some camels but they’re too far away that my pocket camera just couldn’t get any of them.
we went thru the city of Riyadh, where the royal family lived, but it was in the middle of the night and I didn’t dare to take any pictures because somehow the arabians are a bit sensitive with cameras. I don’t wanna get any troubles with the cops.
Anyway, round seven in the morning, we arrived at one of the miqats. Mīqāt (Arabic ميقات, lit. ”a stated place”) are the stations at which pilgrims on theHajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca required of all able Muslims, put on ihrām, the pilgrim’s garment. I got my self changed into ihram and off we go to Makkah.
Since I’m preparing my self to go to Bandung tonight, I’ll continue the trip report tomorrow.
